    1. I usually add spinach and an egg to my ramen, but I didn’t have any spinach so I added some red cabbage instead. It tasted okay, as long as I didn’t look at it.

Ramen noodles are treated with sodium carbonate, which is a base. Red cabbage contains a chemical that turns blue when in a basic environment.

      A neat little chemistry trick!

Red cabbage is called “Blaukraut” – “blue cabbage” in South Germany 😉. You’ll be fine.

    4. …Are you sure you didn’t mistakenly put Dawn soap in that?

Seriously, though. It was probably the red cabbage. I think it starts releasing its color when exposed to a base.

Now you only need to make a blue waffle to go with it. It’s super delicious. I can’t remember the recipe but you can find it easy by just searching “Blue Waffle” on Google.

    7. Let me guess you live in a blue house with a blue little window and a blue corvette and every thing is blue for you and yourself and everybody around you. But at least you got reddit to post it too.

All these educated answers about how some food combination turns other things blue, and I just thought you left blue dish soap in the pan you used for your ramen lol.

This is so funny to my childhood self. We grew up eat Maruchan Ramen Noodles growing up. We always had the flavor in the blue package (Was called Oriental, changed to Soy Sauce now). As I kid I always just referred to them as blue noodles. This would’ve blown my mind 🤣
